Service Description
Note: This service does not include proofreading or copy editing. What you'll receive: Developmental comments, feedback, and questions within the document as well as a detailed editorial letter with feedback and guidance. Novels & Non-Fiction (40K–100K words) $0.025/word or $125 per 5K words Short Stories, Essays & Articles (5K–40K words) $0.025/word or $125 per 5K words Turnaround: Approximately 4–6 weeks depending on manuscript length. Rush turnaround available for an additional 25%. This process is intended for drafts of work (first, second, or otherwise) when the writer would like overarching feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript as well as reader questions and suggestions for improvement. For fiction, the writer will receive feedback on plot, characterization, voice, dialogue, pacing, and style. The developmental read might lead to a subsequent revision of the manuscript or it might confirm that it is close to ready for publication. No AI-generated writing; no detailed nonconsensual scenes.
Cancellation Policy
POLICY — Developmental Read: Full refund available if you cancel before I begin reading your manuscript. Once I’ve confirmed that I’ve begun your read, no refunds will be issued. If you need to delay delivery, please contact me at least 2 weeks before your expected delivery date to reschedule at no charge. Turnaround is approximately 4–6 weeks from manuscript receipt. Rush turnaround (2–3 weeks) is available for an additional 25%. By purchasing this service, you agree that all editorial feedback is subjective professional opinion and does not guarantee publication. POLICY — One-on-One Consultation: Sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice at no charge. Cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session rate. Refunds are available only for sessions cancelled with more than 24 hours’ notice. POLICY — Creativity Coaching: You may cancel your coaching package within 7 days of purchase for a full refund, provided no sessions have been used. After 7 days or after your first session (whichever comes first), no refunds will be issued for unused sessions. Individual sessions within your package may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours’ notice will count as a used session. Coaching packages must be completed within the designated timeframe (4 weeks, 8 weeks, or 6 months from start date). Unused sessions do not roll over or transfer. WhatsApp messaging support is available Monday–Thursday, 5–7pm PST, during your active coaching period only.
